BARBER PROGRAM
Class A Barber 1000 Hours
150 Hours | Basics: Anatomy and physiology; disorders of the skin, scalp, hair and nails; chemistry (haircoloring, chemical waving, and relaxing); bacteriology, sterilization, and sanitation; Safety, first aid, and sanitation; barber implements, tools, equipment and related theory; and history of barbering.
750 Hours | Practice: Shaving; mustaches and beards; haircutting; hairstyling; hair and scalp treatments, scalp massage; safety, first aid, and sanitation; hairweaving, extensions, and wigs; face and neck massage and treatments; facial hair removal; manicuring; chemistry (haircoloring, chemical waving, and relaxing); and razor techniques, safety, first aid sanitation.
100 Hours | Business: Texas barber laws and rules; customer service; barbershop management; professional Ethics and image; safety, sanitation, related practices and theory; and hygiene and good grooming.
The approximate time for completion of the full time Class “A” Barber program is 30 weeks for full-time at 34 hours a week and 50 weeks for part time at 20 per week.
Course Completion dates are subject to attending 30 hours per week for full-time or 20 hours per week for part time.
Academic weeks are defined as actual weeks in attendance excluding holidays, school breaks, and inclement weather days.
The Cosmetology to Barber Crossover
Program consists of 300 hours of instruction. The course includes a combination of theory classes, practical mannequin work, and actual hands on clientele practice. The program will ensure that basic skills to more advanced skills are gained, as individuals proceed through the course. The course also ensures that students are also trained and prepared in State Board licensing applications and evaluations.
The approximate time for completion of the 300 clocked hours full time Cosmetology Operator to Class “A” Barber (Crossover) program is (8) weeks for full-time at 40 hours per week and 15 weeks for part time at 20 hours per week.

State Board
After completing all courses in our barber school, students will need to pass their State Boards for certification. We prepare every student for their boards and take pride in our track record of graduates who pass their boards with flying colors. Graduates will receive their license through the state of Texas upon passing their exam.
